Hello Friends,

My site http://a-one.info has been installed using latest Pligg Version 1.0.0 RC4. Some visitors to my site are complaining about not receiving Activation Code after their registration as users! I myself failed to validate their account from my Admin Panel. When I click the "Validate" link, I am getting a small, blank, white, box (window). I have also not found how anyone can request to resend Activation Code by e-mail if the first did not reach to registering user.

Another issue is that I (as Admin) created a new user account from Admin Panel but neither the new user received any activation code nor I was able to activate that account from Admin Panel.

Guidance in this respect will be highly appreciated.

All the best

I believe there was a bug in rc4. I would suggest updating to one of the latest SVN versions from here

Does this mean that my questions can not be answered satisfactorily if I insist on continue use of Pligg Version 1.0.0 RC4? I have gone to http://forums.pligg.com/wiki-articles/8578-svn.html which you referred to me. But unfortunately I found it too complicated for me to understand. I am not a technical person. Almost all of my own web sites are built on WordPress which is extremely easy to install and run although I have no knowledge of PHP and MySQL. This is my first Pligg site: Social Bookmarking and Social Networking Site! - Your Source for Social News and Networking

Do I have to remove my already installed Pligg CMS and then install SVN to replace that? How then it will be possible for me to recover what I have on that site and on database?

Please comment.

Chuck already provided you with a link to the downloads page which hosts some of the latest SVN versions. Just click on the highest number for a SVN package and overwrite your RC4 files and run the /install/upgrade.php script after backing up everything.

- If you update to a latest svn and email verification still can't send, try to check sendmail function on your hosting
- You may try right-click on "Validate" link > open in a new tab

After properly installing the SVN I found no changes. With Pligg Version 1.0.0 RC4 I was getting following Error message at: http://www.a-one.info/module.php?module=sendannouncement

"Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/a1/public_html/modules/send_announcement/send_announcement_main.php on line 6"

This is still there!

I am still not able to "Validate" the user account directly from Admin Panel.

Hmm, you should delete "send_announcement" module, see if that helps.

Update:
I can confirm, after upgrading pligg install to the latest SVN version, email is properly send and user email validation is working. Most probably this announcement module is not working corectly with latest SVN.

Any suggestions on how to get the functionality this module is supposed to offer, if I delete it? I am not having a problem with registration emails (though I am not using validation, just using a captcha on registration), but if I try to use the send_announcement module, I receive the same error.

Hello Friends,

I again switched to older version 1.0.0 RC4. This seems less problematic.

Validation and Activation of User Account is OK now. But I am still not able to "Validate" the user account directly from Admin Panel no matter whether I created that user account from my Admin Panel or any other user himself/herself have created his/her own account! The only way for Validation and Activation of User Account is via e-mail which automatically goes to the user's Inbox!

Though, at the moment, I am not able to use it but if I will delete "send_announcement" module then how I will be able to send announcements to users? Is there any other alternative to this module?

Your guidance in this respect will be highly appreciated.
