    Question Pligg 1.1.2 Top Users page issue

    I have installed Pligg 1.1.2, on one of my website with theme Arthemia, some basic modules and also enable SEO url method 2. .htaccess redirect pages correctly. Everything seem ok until I click Top Users at the side bar. All users are listed but none of them will link to its profile page except admin(God). "The page you were looking for doesn't exist!" return on all users. This problem only happens when user has not been loging in. If I use any one of my test account to login the site, the error message is gone and all user will be linked to their profile page. I tried this on other pligg sites(Pligg.com /gallery), they seem to having the same problem even they are using other themes.

    It would be appreciated if anyone could tell me how to solve this problem!

    How did you do the .htaccess redirect . I am trying the url method 2, i tried everything, i cant get them to work. Permissions are ok, hostgator allow rewrite mode, location installed fine, but i cant get to work it for same reason. It tells me the to get a code to manage category but i dont have any code there, compare to 1.0.2 i use in other site it is a little bit confusing, so i gave up, i changed to url1.

    Try this as I done it the same way for my site, hope this help;

    1. change to url method 2 after your site have been setup. (you probably done, I see)

    2. backup your exsiting .htaccess and delete it, you may have to copy some lines back from this file(let say blocked ip from your server or other rewrite rules), also do not rename or edit your original htaccess.default manually. The next step will do it for you.

    3. go to admin ->manage ->categrories, at the bottom there is "Click Here to rename htaccess.default to .htaccess to enable URL Method 2.".......ok click. Now you should have a clean copy of .htaccess. But it is not done yet! your site may still not working.

    4. download a copy of the new .htaccess file from your site and use any text editor to open it. read this file line by line and you should find very important information in it and never be mentioned. For example, I need to comment out two lines to allow the file works for my site which I have installed on a subdomain instead a sub-folder.

    5. do the change in the .htaccess if any, save it and upload it back to your site.

    6. check your site and see if it works. if not, roll back the file and do the change again carefully.

    Ok! before I can solve this problem, I have just changed the code in sidebar.tpl so that only login user can read other user's profile page. Well, it is acceptable to me.
