    Unhappy categories and published news disppeared after changing host

    hey yakidank thanks for reply as you told to explain my problem in detail,it is as below

    i today tried to change my host. files and database was successfully transferred..
    but when i opened site at new host the categories and published news disappeared..i also cant login, it says incorrect username and password..

    as we can see i think there is some problem with database connectivity but i checked twise everything including dbconnect.php and settings.php everything seems to be ok.
    any idea?????

    Try going into myphpadmin.. Select the database, and click repair.

    repaired the database but nothing happened...
    still problem is remained same...

    all the tables status shows ok in the database...

    Look in phpmyadmin and see if there are any stories under the pligg_links table. While you are at it, also check the pligg_users table.

    Pligg's backup script generates 2 different SQL files. I have a feeling that you may have imported the structure sql file, but you forgot to insert the content sql.

    both pligg_links and pligg_users contain data and are ok as per current users and links...
    and i have uploaded both files as u mentioned all the queries was executed perfectly and all the data are available in tables as i can see it..

    how clear i mean do i have to delete everything from /cache folder?

    delete the contents in /cache/templates_c. Also check your CHMOD settings according to the readme.html file.

    permissions are also according to readme.html...
    yakidank my friend i dont think i'll ever be able to change my host i am trying this for last 15 days..
    different errors everyday.

    but thanks i really appreciate for ur help..

    Try running yoursite/install/upgrade.php
    Also you might want to look at the troubleshooter located at yoursite/install/troubleshooter.php
