Spam Trigger and Askimet

Greetings,

Our site only excepts material from two url's.

I have both Spam Trigger and Askimet activated (ver 1.1.3 is current base)

The spam filter is catching some of the submissions due to the bad words used in the "light" trigger and placing the url in the local-antispam.txt file.


Question(s):

Do either one of the module automatically ban the url or is that only done from a killspam execution?

If the file local-antispam.txt is not there does this break the spam filter or is there an error reported?

I don't believe any error is reported if you are missing the local-antispam.txt file.

What would be optimal in your case would be a whitelist version of that file so that the site only allows submissions from the two allowed domains. Unfortunately there is no simple feature to enable such a feature at this time.

I developed, with the help of a friend, a whitelist of sorts back in 2007 by inverting code behavior and using the antispam.txt as the whitelist. I use the same technique today with ver 1.1.3...works well.

With the new spam controls it changes things a bit....I'll rename the file back to default, run a few test and report my findings.
