Hello pliggers,

I have a problem with my categories (they are in the sidebar). Of course, when I click on a category, I want to display just all stories concerned by this category...

But it don't work. When I click on a category... the page reload but nothing change.

My DB seems to be correct.

If you want, you can see it here : Myjobisreal.fr

Could you help me please ?

Hi Techr,
Thanks for your reply.

Wistie or not, I have the same problem. But I can't believe that I'm the only guy who have this problem with RC5 !

If you put your mouse on a story category, you'll see "myjobisreal.fr/index.php?category= " and nothing after the "equal" !

Strange but I don't know where and how it is generated. On my DB, each story is correctly linked to a category....

An idea ?

are you using URL method 2? I am having a similar problem with URL method 2. It will display the popular categories, but the upcoming categories just reload the current page. I've tracked it down (I think) to the .htaccess file, and this line:

RewriteRule ^upcoming/category/([^/]+)/?$ upcoming.php?category=$1 [L]

If I type domain.com/upcoming?category=name_of_category... it works, but domain.com/upcoming/name_of_category does not.

I didn't notice this in RC5, but I upgraded to 1.0 final yesterday, and am noticing it now. I'll look into it further, and post a fix if I find one.

I'm using a custom template, but it's happening with Wistie as well. I'm on a Linux server running Apache, PHP5 and MySQL 5.

Hi,

I am using the URL method 1 (because the second give me errors). I will try to upgrade my pligg to final 1.0 version.

I'll post my observation after.

Thanks for your reply and... good luck :-)

I think I've found a solution to this in the htaccess file.

you need to change the lines in your htaccess file that say:
RewriteRule ^upcoming/category/([^/]+)/?$ upcoming.php?category=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^upcoming/category/([^/]+)/page/(\d+)/?$ upcoming.php?category=$1&page=$2 [L]

to:
RewriteRule ^upcoming/([^/]+)/?$ upcoming.php?category=$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^upcoming/([^/]+)/page/(\d+)/?$ upcoming.php?category=$1&page=$2 [L]

Pligg does not put /category/ in the url... it's just upcoming/category_name/.

Although, there are other lines below this in the htaccess file that look like they could conflict with this, but it seems to work on my installation.

I'd love it if Yankidank or someone else in the development team could confirm this solution....

Well, upgrade done correctly... But the problem is the same. If I click on a category (on the sidebar), I don't see concerned stories .
I don't know what to do.
