The social bookmark module seems to have a small bug.

When clicking on "add to" and then selecting a bookmarking service the url that is being submitted is NOT the url for the story page on the pligg site, but rather the url that the member submitted.

Is there a setting to change this or is this a bug?

No, this isn't a bug. Since Pligg is a url submission CMS it makes more sense to socially bookmark the actual real url than just a page with a link to the real url.

If you want to change that you will need to edit the social bookmark module
Open /modules/social_bookmark/templates/social_bookmark_index.tpl

Replace all instances of {$enc_url} with {$story_url}

I made the change you stated above, however its only giving "category/sports/..." as the url rather than http://foo.com/category/sports/..."

So I changed to {$my_base_url}{$story_url} and it seems ok.
