The next problem with the crappy RSS importer here: it imports the same items several times. I have now 2-4 duplicates of some (but not all) items in my database and it will probably take the rest of my life to find and delete those duplicates (642 duplicate link_url). Thanks for that crap and making it ever more useless with any of the rare attempts to fix that mess. Have a look at PHPdug how that can work perfectly fine!

its working for me

step 1: duplicate a file named import.php which is available in modules\rss_import folder
step 2: open the duplicated import.php and remove ../ which will appear in 4 places
step 3: copy that dupilicated import.php to root folder (under www)
step 4: select Cron Tabs options from cpanel
step 5: select Standard
step 6: specify the email address
step 7: enter cron command (php -q /home/_HOSTUSERNAME_/public_html/_MYROOTDIRECTOY_/import.php)
step 8: select the desired schedule time and click save

Well, it may work under certain server environments (cpanel?) but not for standard dedicated servers with Linux. See the many threads in this forum. Once I have found a solution, I'll post it here.
