Ah, well that helps explain the problem. Check your antispam.txt file for any domains, or turn off the Antispam check from Admin > Configure > Antispam.

antispam.txt is free, don't contain any domain, "Enable spam checking" is False. What is the problem?

Turn off "validate url" from the admin > configure> submit>

I believe that uses fopen() and if your server doesn't support it, you will see that error.

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to add http:// bit.ly/MC1Ez at buzzonit dot com and cannot. I'm not using antispam. My antispam.txt is empty. Checked the DB antispam is set to false. My spamlog.log is empty. My local-antispam.txt is empty. I'm totally at a loss.

I'm also having problems allowing html tags. It's almost as if the database and the website aren't communicating properly. I manually change things in the database because I encounter far too many errors when I use the admin>config panel.

In the DB, I've disabled all anti-spam stuff and set validate_url to false. I've given all user types the ability to use 2 html tags and I set both "story title as link" and "story open in new window" to true. None of these changes are working on the site in firefox or ie.

I'm going to take a break from it for a while and revisit in a few hours.

These issues don't make the site unusable of course, they're just little things I'd like to have available. All things considered, after 2 days playing around with Pligg, I'm really enjoying the challenge.
