This problem has only come up once before. The original post mentioned that it was the Captcha causing the problem. Another possibility could be a mail server problem from your web server. Since it's not even inserting the admin info from the Pligg setup my third and final idea is that it's a problem with the pligg_users table in your mysql database. You might want to try clearing out your pligg mysql database and reinstalling after reuploading the files.

DEAR Yankidank:

Thank u so much for your reply, though i can not fix this problem after Checking all the 3 ways you've given!

the webhost i used is the free hosting service of Freehostia.com! i think their free host info can not match Pligg CMS!

when i try the freehost of 000webhost ,there is no problem and everything goes well! but what make me highly depressed again is that i can not sign up a freehost whit the domain diggproducts on 000webhost.com, as they have banned new registeration in China which is my country!

thank u all the same!

hope that we can be friends! thank u again!

Bump!! Pligg 1.0.1

Same issue on a Gentoo Server. My database is MySQL 5.x.

I can browse the users table and I can see my admin user and a subsequent user I registered. I cannot login as either. I try to avail of the lost/forgotten password feature and while it sends me a new password I still cannot login.

Please advise?

R

Try changing the user_pass field for your user to the following to set it to "password".

Per my experience:
1, try "troubleshooter" first, it will give more clues on the root cause.
2, browse the database, check if the user/admin account on the database or not.

What is URL for your pligg installation? Are you running it on local server with domain name like 'server' ie without dot there?
