I am having no success making this module function in Pligg 1.0, and have removed the complete installation and reinstalled Pligg, then installed the upload module several times. Each time ensuring that a CHMOD of either 777 or 755 is applied to attachments and attachments/thumbs.

When I try and upload an image (either from my computer or as a URL) the upload process is timed-out, but if I then check the module/attachments folder I can see that the uploaded image has been saved in this folder (despite the error message in Pligg). When the article is submitted the image is included (as a URL or filename) under the Attachment(s) section (i.e. without showing a thumbnail, despite my configuration being set up to produce thumbnails).

With all due respect to the Pligg development team I suspect there are quite a few bugs in this software, since my next step is to go through the code line by line and sort out the issue directly. Either that or try a different bookmarking CMS.

Before I go any further can someone (anyone) please tell me if they are successfully running V1.0 with the image upload module because I am starting to believe it's an urban myth.

Thanks

I also find that whilst the upload module included as part of Version 1.0 Pligg allows you to adjust settings, the upload module that is available to upload separately does not.

Also this separately available upload module uses a file path that containes two "/" characters before the "module" directory in the URL string.

Before investing more time in making Pligg work for me, I'd just like a little reassurance that I'm working with a stable release of the software.

Still hopeful, but still trying to make it work...

Note to any of the mods: If it would help, I can provide you with my admin login details so that you can take a closer look yourselves. Please send me a PM. Thanks

Just spent some time comparing the upload code within latest version of Pligg (V1.0) with the code in the latest version of the separately available upload module (Version Gold 1.0.0) and I find that they are different (this is probably not news to any Pligg regulars). I am assuming therefore that it's best to stick with the version that comes with the Pligg V1.0 install..?

I'd welcome some clarification from either Chuckroast or Yankidank. Thanks

I spent the day away from the forums working on a Pligg project, so this is a bit of a late reply. It could be a server problem, or it could be a problem with the way you're installing it. If you PM me your ftp and pligg domain with user/pass to check it out I will look into it tomorrow. You might also want to try the latest SVN version of Pligg which as of tonight is: http://www.pligg.com/downloads/svn/1590.zip
