Is it possible to manuaaly make a field mandatory?

Hello!

I have searche a lot,read enough and tried combination of codes, but don't find the answer; I would know if it possible to make a field as required, but no creating a new field from admin panel; I mean, I have installed Upload module, and I want to make required the fact of introducing someting in the text box. If not, it would show an error.
Is it possible with a commando or html code?

Not sure how but I know the extra fields has a required variable. I'd track that and see how they do it for thos then mimic it in the upload php files.

I think he is asking how to modify the upload module to add a required toggle on custom fields in the module. Otherwise yeah just code the validation right into the tpl.

Well, the Upload module has a field where you put the image URL, but this is not a mandatory field so users can submit an article without entering an image URL, so that fact is which I want to avoid, making this field mandatory.
Maybe the voxxxlll's link would work but I don't know quite well how to implement it. It says something about changing the field name by your one, etc, but I don't know the name of the image URL field of Upload module, nor where I must write the code; if you could help me a little more...
