I have installed pligg twice in two different subfolders. I have used the bluehost quick installation script.

Each time the pligg website works fine in the beginning but problem arises after performing a few administration tasks. There is a warning message and the site is completely screwed up:

Warning: filemtime() [function.filemtime]: stat failed for ./../languages/lang_english.conf in /home7/sabzandi/public_html/pliggbeta/internal/template.config_loader.php on line 25

my site : http://www.sabzandish.net/pliggbeta/

It have Persian characters since we are translating pligg into persian, but I have checked that the English installation on my host and had the same problem as well.
The first time I encountered the problem I changed chmod for languages directory to 777 and problem was solved. It happened again after a few days, again after a few admin tasks.
I checked the database and value for my_base_url is set correctly

any Idea what causes this strange recurrence of the problem?

many thanks

I think that the SimpleScripts service that Bluehost uses to easy install Pligg may be buggy. A user reported a similar error a couple weeks ago and I did a manual installation and it seems to have fixed any problems that he may have experienced. I might suggest uploading the files from the Pligg download over your existing ones to see if that helps, and then make sure that the CHMOD settings are all set correctly according to the readme.html. If that doesn't work try doing a manual install of Pligg.

Agreed, it's Bluehost/Simplescripts probably. I did fresh installs twice of Pligg on Bluehost using Simple Scripts and both times after a couple of clickthroughs it loses the full path, and ends up with http://admin http://index etc links.
Not sure I am game enough to try a manual install. Will get a beer and think about it
regards, Laurel

I contacted Bluehost to let them know that the Simplescript installation is causing errors. Hopefully they will update the installation script and Pligg version soon.
