Invalid Url - Only one domain with Issue
Before anyone suggests turning off validation, the error "URL is invalid or blocked:" only comes up for one domain, so it's not my host's support and I don't need to turn off the url validation.
I've also checked the local-antispam text file and it's not on there.
Any idea why one domain in particular would be bloacked or invalid?

Trying to figure out why only certain urls would be blocked. Got word today that another site is having the same issue.

Some sites block other servers attempting to connect to it to grab the meta information, title, etc. If a 3rd party site denies access to this information in their robots.txt file, it will return an invalid url error. There is nothing you can do about it from your end except to disable url validation. It's not an issue with Pligg. It's just how some 3rd party sites operate.

Interesting. I disabled the validation and now one of the sites in question gets a "The was a connection error!" response.
Now of course this is odd since I know the url in question successfully has been submitted to a Drigg site and n4g (.net).
I know the first instinct is "not Pligg's fault" as I've searched the forums here extensively, but hopefully it's clear I'm not blaming it and can figure out a solution since I see by posts dating back to 2007 that I'm not alone in this issue. I'm just a little more persistent, lol.

So any logical explanation as to why I'd get an error stating "The was a connection error!" for a site when I disable url validation. 99% of sites work. Have only got this error on 2 domains trying to submit. Both domains in question are legit and not banned in anyway from my site.

So even with validation turned off, I'm still getting new sites reporting the same issue. Obviously it's frustrating since building a dedicated group of contributors is the hardest part.
I've checked the local-antispam.txt and antispam.txt files and none of the sites reporting the issues are on there. Just all the spam bots that plague Pligg.

How about listing some of these sites here so we can look into it?

I've had issues getting external content and connect timeouts when not using CURL method to pull that. Maybe it's related -- can't really look into the files a moment. Just a thought.

I've been checking every logical explanation. CURL is enabled, checked all the spam lists. Tried disabling url validation. Sacrificed a couple goats. Went through tons of other similar posts here on the forums. Made sure the stars were aligned.
Not sure what else.

Should've tried chickens instead of goats. Have you checked your apache/php logs? maybe there is a specific error that is happening.
