Upon a clean install of beta 8 the base page reports

ERROR: my_base_url is not set. Please correct this using the admin panel. Then refresh this page

my_base_url - the admin panel -> config reports that config2.php isn't writeable. From the default install instructions that isn't changed to world writeable.

I guess there are plans to be able to update that on the page? My install just tells me the values of the items but I cannot adjust them on the page. Weird to have it require world writeable.

Also I did a tail on my error logs and see a problem right off the bat.

[Sun Oct 8 07:17:11 2006] [error] PHP Warning: fopen(templates_c/c_4a36bd450be2da7d55b526fb7b4fbced.php) [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/jason/web-public/pligg/class.template.php on line 669

the directory ./templates_c is not world writeable. Changing that to world writeable fixes that one - and makes some more...

Hi

Try manually changing the base_url and pligg_base in the config2.php

then go back to the admin panel and try editing it now. By clicking on the value a textbox should appear

Thanks! I did not realize that was a link you could click on. Pretty slick.

Some servers require you to chmod some of the files to 777 instead of 755 like the instructions say.
