I set up the the .htaccess file right, I just know i did. For the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Double checked and everything. I saved, and went to the control panel It was there. I then logged onto my new site, and clicked a link to a article, and found out it was gone. Could not be found. Font page is there all articles showing but are are missing when you click on the link.

[Tue Oct 13 20:02:17 2009] [error] [client snip] File does not exist: /home/username/public_html/robots.txt

I did not save a copy of htaccess file either. Can i just make a new one or is it not that simple? What do I do?

.htaccess files just don't disappear. You might have mistakenly deleted it or your server is setup to not show those types of files in your FTP client. Go through your FTP client options and see if it has a option to show hidden files and folders.

It's not in my ftp client, I was in cpanel, and it's no where to be found.

As Chuck said, the file won't just disappear because of Pligg. Your web host might be removing them for some reason, so you may want to try contacting them.

then you change htaccess.default to .htaccess it will disappear, but from your view only. It`s still there!

If you use shell and want to see files the command is : ls

If you use shell and want to see all files (including hidden like .htaccess) the command is : ls -a
