I am trying to redirect (301) the www.mydomain.com/index.php to www.mydomain.com with no sucess. I wanted the the redirect for the Index.php will apply only for the main index.php (www.domain.com/index.php) and not for the other index.php pages on the site.

Can you help me with the text that I should put in the .htaccess file.

Thanks!

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index.php
RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
