(I see only one forum, so this is where I will post. )

I had this problem before, tried to fix it and took down my whole website. Thanks for helping me fix this. site is back up, but this seemingly easily preventable error cost me weeks.

PROBLEM: ( I will show you the error by requesting you try both of these links)

1) This link works fine: http://www.metrospecials.com/news/index.php

2) This link does not work right: http://www.metrospecials.com/news

My problem happens when you click on the TITLE of my site, on the home page. ( Metrospecials.com) That link will take you to #2 above, which does not work.

QUESTION: How do I change the link so that it will go to #1 above, or is the superior resolution of the is problem.

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid mistake on my part.

Thanks

Cruth

Looks like your server doesn't have it's directory index set correctly.
You should be able to fix this by adding this line in your .htaccess file.
DirectoryIndex index.php

Thanks, I fixed the problem after going into the htaccess file, and reading it, and adding the site subdirectory, whch is "news".

Below is the line in htaccess, and what I changed it to.

## If Pligg is installed in a subfolder, change the below line to RewriteBase /name-of-subfolder
RewriteBase / news
