Greetings,

I am using GoDaddy.com to setup my site and created a MySQL database. Copied all the files up to the site.

At Step 1, I see this:

../libs/dbconnect.php is writable: Yes
../libs/options.php does exist.: Yes

At Step 2, I see this:

Could not open '../libs/dbconnect.php' file for writing

Only problem seems to be that I can set Directory permissions, but I cannot change File permissions (I am assuming this is a permission problem).

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

can you try chmoding it to 777 and see if it works?

I cannot seem to change the permissions from Cute FTP... Cute FTP says this is because GoDaddy will not allow it.

DO you know another way to do this? via DOS Prompt?

Are you using a windows or Linux box beesnuts? I've just ditched a windows host after 3 of us couldn't get the install working.

I switched to bluehost.com - the install took about 5 minutes as promised.

If it's not that, and GoDaddy just don't allow you to change file permissions, you will have to ask them to change file permissions for you.
