I just installed the new pligg and have been looking for the RSS importer. I just noticed it was removed starting in this version. Is it available for download?

You will need to either grab it from the 1.0.1 version of from the SVN /modules directory. We are no longer supporting this module as of 1.0.2 because so many users are either not using it correctly, using it for unintended purposes and with untested langauges or are experiencing bugs that we are unable to reproduce. If we had people donating money to maintain this module it would give us a reason to keep it up, but for the sake of continuing development on more important features we have dropped support for the RSS Importer module.

So what does this mean? I can't auto-integrate content from other RSS feed like described here: "You can also use RSS feeds from other websites to automatically add stories to your Pligg site. "

What would it cost to get this feature implemented?

It's a module from 1.0.1 and earlier versions of Pligg. You can still use the module, but we do not include it with the 1.0.2 download since a lot of users have reported bugs and are making crazy support requests. Grab the module from the 1.0.1 Pligg download and upload it to your 1.0.2 modules directory and install.

strange, the rss-importer module is why most users use pligg for their sites...
think about that.
i am sure we will see it as pligg pro module again, right? (which would be ok i think if there is ongoing development and feature improvements)

The module was removed from the distribution because the developer failed to keep it current.

This will never be a Pligg Pro module because it's Open Source and already freely distributed.. Please take a moment and learn what that means. It's still freely available from our SVN. This is a ridiculous accusation.

hey, that was just an idea cause lots of users would need this in future pligg versions, also to hold their pligg versions up to date, so do i. i also would pay for it..
