What is an Ajax Status Update Module?
If you use Twitter, than this module will look very familiar to you. I like to call it The Wall. Using Ajax basically gets and displays data without having to reload a page. Below you can visit my demo site for this plugin and play around with it. Some of the key features are:
  1. Submit a status update and tell your friends what you are up to without having to reload the page.
  2. View all your Friends and Followers right there on your Wall
  3. Visit your Friends or Followers Wall.
  4. Visit friends of friends of friends walls and so on, same thing with followers.
  5. Make friends as you go by clicking on Follow button, similarly you can remove friends by clicking on Remove button.
  6. Pagination works similar to Twitter and Facebook. Try it out.
  7. Send a direct message to your friends using @username format.
  8. Send a message to ALL your members using *god message format.
  9. Search for status updates from your friends
  10. Displays an about user section in the right sidebar.
  11. Launch the Wall from any page on your site.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, All of the above is done without ever needing to leave or reload the page. This module can immediately get your members engaged and start participating. If you are interested in purchasing this module, please reply here and let me know. If there is enough interest in this module, I will continue to prepare it for a public release and it will be available at Pligg Pro after I have taken care of a few minor bugs and add a few more features such as:
  1. Search for users on the wall.
  2. List View for Friends and Followers instead of Icons.

and anything else that YOU suggest. A simple plug and play installation with no code to modify except CSS if you need to.

Demo:
Take a look for yourself by going to http://linkcity.tv and login using the following
username: squidup
password: squidup

Once logged in, simply click on the "My Wall" Button on the left side of the page. Looking forward to any feedback.

Thank you,
Azam | SquidUp.org

Not sure what gedget is. Yes it does look like twitter, I chose to do it that way because it is easy to follow. Can you customize twitter for your own Pligg site? You can't. This is a social module to help you build a community on your Pligg site and get your members to start interacting with each other.

What do you mean by putting this inside the sidebar? I will be creating RSS feed for the status updates and you can use that RSS to include in the sidebar.

JP, Let's see, did Twitter come first or the Twitter Widget? lol What you are asking for could be an easy enhancement to this module using RSS. I looked at the twitter widget, its only a widget for the twitter updates. Does this mean that Twitter should shut down and only keep the widget? NO!!

You say what does this module do more, well it integrates with your Pligg site to begin with and encourages your members to get involved. When your member update their status on Twitter, do you see it in your pligg site? When your member submit a story, do you see it in twitter? When your member submits a comment, do you see it in twitter? Twitter is an external website. IF you want to direct all your users to Twitter then you should go for it. Smart webmasters want to keep visitors on their OWN site. Are you a smart webmaster? The GOAL of this module is to keep your members and visitors engaged on YOUR Pligg site and NOT on twitter.

Hope this answers your question.

Apparently, you can't see the point. Sounds like you have everything you need already.

Thank you Shahuru, I will let you know when it is available at Pligg Pro. Price is not set yet. At this time I am just trying to assess if there is enough interest in this module to release it.
