Hi,

Is there a limit to the number of categories and subcategories you can have? My latest Pligg site (Pligg's Great!) is a bit of a scattergun approach with many categories. I seem to have hit a limit at around 90 (combination of categories and subcategories), where they're saving in admin but not showing in the front end.

I've tried updating to v1.0.3b, clearing template cache, optimised the db, cleared browser cache and cookies and tried the latest wistie template, but there's no change.

Any solutions?

I believe the limitation is dependent on the version of mySQL you are using.

Blimey, that was quick! Thanks!

Should I be using the latest mysql version or an earlier one that's compatible with multiple categories?

Don't suppose you'd know the version no. so I can look into it?

If I remember correctly it was caused by a character limit in older mysql versions. I think it topped out at around 88 categories. Always use the latest mysql available.

How do you target specific ads for only certain categories?

Please Help!

Further to my op. Categories are saved in admin, but are not all showing in front end. Mysql database is populated with all category_names. The mysql database isn't the latest release but it's close.

When I'm logged in (as a god user or normal user), I can't see all the categories in the front end. But when I'm logged out I can see, and navigate, all the categories!

Please help, it's too weird for my head!

Found the problem - corrupt database. Fixed
