I have version 1.0.3 and I did a fresh install. I set all the correct permission and then deleted the install file.

When i go to submit a news URL, enter the URL and press continue the following error appears on the next page next to the Story Title field:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

This only happens when i enter certain URLs. For example if i enter the following URL: http://www.genuinecoinsforsale.com

I can just "delete object refence not set to an instance of an object" and put in my own title but it is not retrieving the title from the destination site.

The Title tag on the destination site is long and contains The | characters. That could be the cause of the problem.

If so then this could be a bug in this version of Pligg. It doesn't fetch the page titles from certain pages entered in the URL field. Im not sure its a bug however which is why I did not post under that topic.

My Pligg site is: My Site - Your Source for Social News and Networking

No, it's not a bug.
It's more than likely that your web-server is timing out when the submitted url is using php()fopen to obtain the meta information from the submitted url.

Choices are:
1 disable validate url from admin > configure> submit>
2 get a better host.

Why does the it time out for some site but not others. Is this because it takes longer to access the meta data from some sites?
