I have a few questions for a feature/mod I will begin looking into.
I have a site that mainly links to pages that are referenced by a static URL, even though the content may change (for example: a blog). I am wondering about a few things:
1) If the 10 days (or whatever you set) to post passes, can that URL be resubmitted and still pass the URL validation or will it say the URL has already been posted? Basically, this is a try again next time kind of feature. (I think this may be a useful feature for VideoSift, too, if this is not how it already works)
2) If the site had been promoted to the frontpage but the content of the site changes so that someone wants to submit it again, is there a wait period you can set (like submitting a URL once a day, once a week, etc.)?
3) If a site had been promoted to the frontpage and the content of the site doesn't change, but gains popularity, is there a way to re-promote an already promoted site back to the front page after a second threshold of votes (example would be 10 votes to get to the frontpage first time, 100 votes will get you promoted back up to the front, and then every 100 after that you will get promoted.)
The beauty of Digg and Pligg is that it works great with new content & new links, but I want to modify it more for static URLs even though the content on those sites may continue to change.
