Groups module not notifying groups admin in closed/ groups..

I am guessing it is a conflict between my shredit theme and the group module. Every other aspects of the group module seems to work.. But for closed groups there is no way to get any members beside the founder, since there is no notifications that a user has applied for group membership..

Someone has an idea what i could do ?

how would admin snippet, that lets me insert snippets of code to ruff places in my template, fix a module that has notification issues ?
