"How to" question on adding a LinkedIn share button

After a quick search of these forums and the net I found some old info providing instructions adding an LinkedIn share button:
How to Add Official LinkedIn Share Button in Pligg | Blogging - Top News | Newsodrome

Anyway, the LinkedIn code seems to have changed but the advise to add the code to the link_summary.tpl works (updated code on LinkedIn site: https://developer.linkedin.com/plugi...ugin-generator).

BUT.... when you use the button on the upcoming or published page you just get a share for the upcoming or published page ... I guess to be expected (you can get the idea of it not really working here coligo.info)

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully added to upcoming/ published page but with the individual post URL getting shared when the button is used directly from the upcoming/ published page?

    Any sharing greatly appreciated...

I've always wondered why Pligger's have a dozen share buttons on one page (upcoming, published, categories, etc.

My thought about the share button is it should only be on the story page. ;-)

i'm using Pligg in editorial mode only (rather than linking to stories).. so on my published and upcoming page you can generally read the entire entry. Thus in my case it would be useful for users to share directly. The alternative of opening the individual post and then sharing just adds steps... so is less likely to happen (see coligo.org to get an idea).

but for the standard pligg setup you are probably spot on.

err.. ended up being embarrasingly simple... just use the existing AddThis module that includes LinkedIn share amongst other things.. .and you can share from the published/ upcoming pages and it correctly takes the post link rather than the page link.

    easy!
