Insert var, such as PLIGG_Visual_Name, in a static page?

I can edit the HTML easily enough but (doh!) it appears exactly as I enter it. I was just wondering if there is special syntax for all the vars in the languages file.

Thanks, this sounded promising until I added it and it's still showing that literal string. What did I miss please?

By static page, do you mean a HTML page? Or do you mean a static page like the Pligg page feature?

I mean the Pligg page feature - the ones accessed like IANA — Example domains (Managed via Manage | Pages in the admin screen). Btw I'm on Pligg 1.1.4.
