    Wrong Referrer /admin/admin_editor.php

when I tried to change template and clicked "To change the template, please click here" it showed "Wrong Referrer 'http://www.mywebsite.com/admin/admin_editor.php'

    the url is:
    http://www.mywebisite.com/admin/admi...?page=Template

I have reinstall (copied the pligg files), without touching database, this error still exists.

Is the current choice of template information stored in database?

    What could cause this?

    Thanks.

You will sometimes get that error when navigating to a page from an external link or by manually typing in the URL, rather than by following a link from inside your site to that page. Were you accessing this page through a link in your admin panel?

I access from the admin page, I clicked "template" button and then clicked to change template.

Have you tried different route to change the template, i.e. Admin > Configure > Template ?

I went both ways, I tried too many ways. The only way I could make it work before I deleted and reinstalled was to change the template folder name using ftp tool.

A temporary fix for this would be to remove the following line from the admin_editor.php file:
    PHP Code:
    check_referrer();

    Thanks.

I think I am facing more difficulties besides pligg.

I have totally removed the folder, and I gave a new folder name, and I uploaded all the installation files, and I uploaded all the template files just extracted from the zip file.

The weird thing is, when I changed the template, what is showing is the old template I had modified before I deleted and re-install.

It's like the old files are still there like ghosts, even after I have changed the folder name and uploaded the file freshly. Is something wrong with my hosting? I am using 1and1.

Did you clear your Pligg cache, and browser cache? Pligg stores template cache in /cache/templates_c/. Delete all of the files in there and reload the page.

I cleared firefox cache, and I deleted all the files under cache/template_c.

    Using twixx for example.
Previously I had added border in #header, and I had replaced pligg_templates with mytwitter in _sidebar_twitter.tpl. Those were all deleted after I had removed all the file using rm commend under SSH, and then I created a new folder with a different name, then I uploaded the installation files (freshly unzipped from the installation zip file) into the folder by filezilla (I used SSH command too but the installation wasn't working).

Now, after I have installed and uploaded twixx into the template folder, after I have deleted and cleared the cache files, when I use filezilla edit to open _siderbar_twitter.tpl, it still shows the twitter account is pligg_templates, which was what I uploaded, but on the browser page it shows mytwitter. Also the same happened with the style.css, no border information but the browser shows the border.

Until I saved the file and filezilla would ask me "the file has been change, if upload to the sever" and I said "yes", then the browser would reflected the file which was just saved.

This means, what the browser shows is not what's in the files stored in the server, UNLESS I open all the files and save them under filezilla "edit".

I wonder what could cause this? why the browser doesn't read what's in the server after I upload?

Is this something to do with the pligg setting, or the hosting?

I think I got lost part way through reading that, but it sounds like your uploads aren't overwriting the existing files. Have you tried deleting the files from the server first, then uploading them?
