Have you looked in your database to see if they're still there but merely marked as spam and as such not shown in your admin/live site?

Thanks JoeWa...I've actually been doing that for the past half hour...changing the articles from spam! Thanks! I still haven't discovered how to regain my access to my original username. I've taken it out of spam and changed the IP address but I still have been unable to reset the password successfully. When it sends me the temporary password it still doesn't recognize it. (i've also changed my computers IP as well)

This happened to me too - I think it was Askimet and the other spam modules all seeing my frantic activity setting up the site and I was blocked. You might want to disable those while you restore things and add your IP address to the approved .txt file in your root directory. Someone here will be able to give you a query to run on your table to change the status of those articles if you've a load of them.

This may help: Spam vs discard

Was your account an admin or god level account? Pligg has built in features to prevent killspamming moderators, so I'm curious how you banned yourself.

It sounds like the account is either still marked as a spammer in the database, or it is not "enabled".

Greatly appreciate the help! I definitely intended to SPAM the articles and the members that made it through the askimet module.

My profile was under god level for sure. Im not quite sure how it happened, I'm usually very careful when spamming the articles. I just know this morning, I wasn't able to log in, reset password wouldn't even send me a email and i couldn't even create a new account due to the IP address. So I'm actually assuming that I spammed myself. i don't have any clue how it could have happened otherwise.

I was able to change the spam status on my original account, I'm going to go back now and check on the 'enabled' status.

    Thanks again for the help

I am guessing that the Akismet module doesn't bother to check the user's role, so that may have been how you ended up killspamming yourself.

I noticed that you can killspam god and admin. There is a need for to prevent that. It happened a few times for me and became an expert in regaining access to my admin or god accounts. SMH....
