KB I think your a little confused about this... It actually takes the tags used from the current story and uses those as search terms. So it searches through both the tags and story titles to find matches...

Chuck, the way your mod works is that if you click on "find more stories like this" it will use the tags for that story to search for other stories. But, it will only return stoies with those same EXACT tags. According to what you said, if a story has three tags, tag1, tag2, and tag3 and i click on that link it will only find stories that also have those EXACT tags. Try it for yourself and use the "how not to change your oil" story as an example. If you click on "find links like this" it won't find anymore stories but if you search just for "change" which is a tag it finds more stories.

In summary, even if another story has the same tag it won't find it unless it has the EXACT same tags, no less or no more.

Here is a perfect example why...

first, once this /mod/hack is applied, search engines will pick it up and it will look something similar to this..


Now when someone were to click that link which is

Look at that page you can see that its listing similar stories that "DON"T HAVE THE EXACT SAME TAGS"

Hopefully this example will clear up any misunderstanding..
