RSS Importer will be available in the next version but there will be ways to upgrade your current version so you can use it.

I've got this mainly working, but it doesn't seem to be able to check for duplicate URLs. I did the hack about and got the duplicate title deal to work, but the duplicate URLs are not working. I don't get an error or anything, it just adds another copy of the story. Anyone else having this issue? Can anyone tell me how to fix it or the general direction I should be looking in? Thanks, Darren |

It's best to just wait until the next version is released. There are probably a few other files that were edited that the previous person forgot to mention.

FYI, I built something that scrapes any website for links, saves all the links & their respective hypertext to a txt file at periodic intervals. Then at my preset times it runs through and removes duplicate stories and exports to RSS. My problem is my test server is PHP5 and it's what I learned on, but my site servers are version 4 so it only works on my test server. If someone is interested in collaborating with me on this and a few other projects that will automate Pligg I'll be happy to share. In any event, PHP has this "duplicate string in array" check built in though I don't recall the name offhand. |

From what I can tell I have installed / updated all the files from revision 201. I believe that 8.0.2 was revision 200 so since I have 8.0.2 installed and updated all the 201 stuff I should be where I need to be, right? So, at this point the RSS is kind of working, but there is no way to weed out duplicate URLs. Also, is there a way to clean the HTML and extra tags out of the RSS feed before it's put into the title / summary fields?? Thanks, Darren |
