I moved Pligg to a new host and now I can't get it to show up.

Here is what I did -

- copied all files from old server to new server
- backup old database and import it to new database
- edited dbconnect and config files to reflect new host/db
- it is being hosted on the new server in the subdirectory so i used phpMyAdmin to put in the field
- made sure all the file permissions were still correct

Now when I go to the site, it just gives the loading cursor (doesn't timeout) and stays on a white screen. Anyone know what I did wrong?

Make sure that you delete everything in templates_c and make sure to edit config2.php with your new pligg base. Once you edit config2 make sure you go into the admin panel and set it again.

Thanks, I deleted all the contents in templates_c and then went to the address and got

Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/home/hoopsdoj/public_html/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user.

I then changed the permissions to templates_c to 777 and went to the address again and the same thing is happening. It just hangs and tries to load.

also, i can't access admin panel because it just tries to load but I did modify config2.php and replaced it and I went into the config table database via myphpadmin and changed the values in there.

Do other sites on that domain work? I've never had experience with Pligg and tildas ~ in the URL so who knows if that's causing the problem.

I went to

http://www.blowoutsale.com/~hoopsdoj/admin/

and got 404 The requested URL /admin_index.php was not found on this server.

I added some to the .htaccess :

RewriteBase /~hoopsdoj

and now it works. But the main site still doesnt

I actually have the same issue. I have several domains running on my server, and several wtih databases and this is the first I have tried to copy and failed. I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: _() in /home/ftb/public_html/libs/utils.php on line 70

and the story never load.

I can log into the site
I can change admin properties.
I can edit my profile
I can see my friends

I can no see stories.

I have DNS pointed at the old server now ( 66.225.255.3)

I have changed DNS back so that I do not experience any downtime, but you can change your hosts file to point to: 216.69.173.87 and see my errors.

Help?

Further information, I looked into this some more and all permisions are verified as the same as the old server and the same as the pligg documentation suggests. I cleared broswer cache, etc. Still no luck.

I just did a new install with the latest nightly release and the same issue occurs. It just hangs while trying to load so it has to be something on the server side...

anyone else install pligg on a subfolder with a tilda ~?
