I came across ArmchairGM.com (recently purchased by Wikia.com). armchairgm combines the following:
a. PLIGG VOTING & submissions
b. WIKI (USERS CAN EDIT NEWS ARTICLES)

Is there value in allowing other users to ADD content (pics, text, embed videos) on the NEWS ARTICLE story.php file through the comments section (like a blog entry or a forum like thread for the story.php file)

can pligg's story.php be like a forum thread like this Jelsoft form i'm using now for this message?

Your thoughts?

I'm not sure why people would need to edit the news articles? the first example I looked at on that site was someone editing someone else's article by writing cuss words and obscene language. Even though I've said before that Pligg doesn't really have a direction it's going I think that for sites like digg and pligg there's really no point in letting everyone edit everyone else's stories. I think it's great for sites like wikipedia but not for story driven sites like Pligg.

There's a queued section for a reason. If the stories are inaccurate then you don't vote for them. There's no need to edit them if no one votes for them to be on the front page. Like I said, a wiki idea works great for encyclopedia sites like wikipedia but not for story driven sites like digg and pligg.

KB, thanks for your comments

How about adding a Forum Like functionality on the "comments /discuss box"?
This would allow users and readers to participate by adding more content on the story.php page. Do you think this will be a way to get a discussion going on that story by letting readers to submit supplemental information related to the story.
(we can go over the detailed functionality if there is support)

A pure WIKI function maybe an overkill but taking a bit on that idea is to allow users to add more info on a story (photo, video, pdocast), for example, if I read a story about Pligg's latest release and the new features, then selecting the PliggRelease story.php will give me additional information from other readers who have inputs on the release but juiced up in a forum way. Somewhat, a story becomes semi-organic growth and may last longer for each pligg owner.

So Folk's what do you think of a forum like features for submitting comments/additional info. per story?
