    Broken RSS

    Hello,

I had someone else install Pligg but I can no longer get in touch with them, so here I am.

I'm using a Mac and RSS does not work in Safari, I get "The error was: “unknown error” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1)"

In Firefox I get the following: (see image rss.jpg)

I can't program so I hope this is something that I can fix.

    Thanks

Thanks for the bug report. It doesn't look like the rss feed likes the ampersand symbol.

You're welcome! So since this is a bug I will have to wait for it to be fixed, officially? Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

    Thanks!

what version of pligg are you using? the latest version works fine.

    set line 141 to

    echo " <category>" . htmlspecialchars($category_name) . "</category>\n";

it probably doesn't have htmlspecialchars on yours/

    Line 141 of which file?

As well, you can just change the category name to remove the & symbol and it should work fine.

I changed the line of code and it still did not work, same exact error, so I changed the category name and it worked :-) Thank you.

it works in Safari but FF says there is no style information associated with it and displays the document tree. Is this something that the webmaster should have set up or is this another problem?

You also asked what version I am running. I don't know, how do I find out?

    Thanks!!

AFAIK Firefox doesn't automatically use RSS how it should for some reason, so seeing the rss like xml is normal. The person needs to copy the RSS address and create a new 'Live Bookmark' from the 'Manage Bookmarks' section.
