Thanks for the very nice upgrade of Pligg. I enjoy it working better than before and the new template.

I saw that the new version works with sub categories, and would very much like this on my site.

How do I make sub categories? Should it be possible to make more categories like the "all"-one and that the rest are sub categories? I only see the button "Add a new category" and am able to edit or delete the categories.

There are some square fields between the categories. Are they of any use?

I get this message all the time:

"If you're using URLMethod 2, you'll want to use this line in your .htaccess file.

RewriteRule ^(all|Plugins|Themes|WordPresslinks|WordPressNews| SEOplugins|Tutorials|newcategory)/([a-zA-Z0-9-]+)/?$ story.php?title=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^(all|Plugins|Themes|WordPresslinks|WordPressNews| SEOplugins|Tutorials|newcategory)/?$ ?category=$1 [L]"

Does that mean anything. Does it mean that I should add the lines to the .htaccess-file everytime I added a category? If yes, Where in the .htaccess-file should it be placed?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much, That was exactly that help I needed. Seems so easy but I was not used to think in that AJAX-way.

How about quoted recommendation? Is it nessesary to put the text in to the .htaccess-file after every category-addition? And where in the file should it be placed?

That's only if you're using url method 2. It's a bit buggy in the beta 9 release so I wouldn't recommend using them yet but they're almost complete now. In admin config > URLMethod you can change the links on your website to use more of a "clean" look. If you're using method 1 then you don't need to worry about the htaccess stuff.

Thanks again for the reply, kbeeveer46.

Would like very much to work with URL-method 2, but it does not work at all.

But also using method 1 there is a problem with the categories: From the frontpage everything is okay, but if you go to a single entry the categorys get the clean look that does not work.

Take a look at my site: votepress.com

Is this a bug? Is there a way to fix it?

(I am using DreamHost and the site is made by a new install of Pligg 9)

The thing is that I downloaded the whole pligg-script on 3. january. Did you make the changes to the downloadable file as well when the correction was made? Anyway I overwrote all the files that had been changed as in the link you gave me. But still I am having the same problem with categories not working when looking at a specific post. I use URL method 1 and have also tried Friendly Url's off for both posts and categories with no success ( they are now on again).

Would it give meaning to make a complete reinstall? It looks that the files for doenload are still the same as released on the 17. december.

Is there anything else I could try?
