    Hi Savant,

    Appreciate your reply very much.

    i) php version 4.3.11

    ii) sql version 4.1.14

    iii) I have not changed any settings pertaining to configurations

    iv) Contents of settings.php
    $my_base_url = 'http://www.mallr.com';
    $my_pligg_base = '';
    $dblang = 'en';
    define('table_prefix', '');
    include_once mnminclude.'settings_from_db.php';

    v) Link to site, http://www.mallr.com/shakeit.php
    Do not enter via the main url as I have replaced the index file. I have tested with the actual pligg index file but it didn't fix the problem, nor did the use of other templates helped

    I used to run pligg 8.20 and it was perfectly ok, both voting for stories and comments.

    Thanks in advance

    Add this near the top of htaccess

    <files *.js.gz>
    AddType "text/javascript" .gz
    AddEncoding gzip .gz
    </files>
    ctrl + f5 to refresh

    Savant,

    I'm on a shared host and am unable to access the .htaccess file. Is there any way else that we can get around this? Like disabling the new GZIP method?

    I have problems with the AJAX configurations on the admin panel and I read that it was because of the new gzip method.

    hi you need to change the .htaccess file not the httpd.conf

    the .htaccess file is in the pligg folder.
    If you haven't used it before it's probably called htaccess.default

    just rename that file to .htaccess and add the the lines i posted.

    Savant,

    I'm unable to upload a .htaccess file because of the restrictions imposed upon me by my web host... Is that the end of my pligg site?

    damn that webhost.

    \modules\scriptaculous\scriptaculous_init.php

    rename js/prototype.js.gz to js/prototype.js

    and the others

    Open modules/scriptaculous/scriptaculous_init.php and you'll see the calls to .js.gz files. Change all of those to .js.

    Open pligg.tpl of your template and do the same for all the .js.gz.

    EDIT: Savant beat me

    Ok guys, i appreciate it a lot but i still couldn't get Voting to work

    There still seem to be a problem after making those changes abovementioned. Is there anything that we might have missed out?

    Current changes made:
    i) scriptaculous_init.php
    ii) pligg.tpl of mollio-beat

    I get an error message when I try to load up the Tell A Friend feature on Firefox, while on IE... the AJAX form simply doesn't show up.
