Smile Advanced Statistics with page views

    Hello all,

Here with I am announcing the second module for getting advanced statistics of the site and stories.

    http://www.pligg.com/forum/attachmen...1&d=1171974876

Below is the screenshot of the module in action.

This module is in early stage and if you feel it needs improvement -pls suggest or modify as it suits you.

The reason we created this module is that it would give a detailed statistics on your site rather than throwing stones at thin air by claiming that your site has xxxxxx page views per day or in total (I think Digg does this way - no one has seen the exact site stats)

Anyone wanna improve it up, we thought to gather some feedback on how to improve it and if possible add it to each stories or display stories by page views - but need all your help into this... Vinoth and myself are kinda new to Pligg (we is playing only for past 1- 2 weeks) so we needs your help and suggestions too..

    TIA.

I was looking at the code a second ago and I had one concern. If you are going to be creating a bunch of modules it might be best to try and use the global $db so people don't have to edit all the files with their database details. I don't have time to get into details now (on campus) but I think it would make it a lot easier for everyone.

Besides that, I think these mods are looking great.

wow you did it one sql query, nice.
i need to learn mysql better

what you can do is run the query on the php code, and store it in an array and pass it to the tpl file.

and do a foreach/section(smarty) to display the titles in the template.

better seperation between code and template.

But you can do it whichever way you want.

Sure kbeeveer, will try to use the global $db - will try to update the other modules also to make use of it that it can save people editing each module files, thanks for the suggestion - actually we were searching for the class that holds the db connection but got confused earlier that forced us hard-code values.

savant - sure we will try to improve th code if time permits.
