Hi all, I've diligently searched and read the posts relating to CAPTCHA and PLIGG 9:
CAPTCHA not working
No Captcha!!
CAPTCHA Image Problems: Some Tips
None of them seem to help, relate to my situation, etc.
My number one wish for an easy solution: DISABLE CAPTCHA. Anyone? Not everyone can access their server at the level required to install or update the GD library, and this brings everything to a screeching halt.
Otherwise, here's my situation:
php.info gives:
Quote:
gd
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled
This is probably the problem, but I don't know enough about the tech side of GD installs to read if this is the right version.

I know there's a post savant made for disabling the captcha. Try searching for it.

There are no results from an advanced search of posts made by savant containing the words "captcha" or "capcha" (just in case), and one result relating to something else containing the word "disable". Looking through a general list of savant's posts up to October 2006 didn't reveal anything, unless the info was inside one of the posts titled something generic like "HLP ME PLS W/SMTHNG", and the words I searched for above were misspelled.

Does anyone remember where I can find this post? Or know a simple way of disabling captcha? Or even something like, does the info above mean that my GD installation needs updating?

Thanks for the help =)

Probably because it didn't contain the word "captcha". I do give an honest try at searching for things before I ask a question, but I don't read every post in the forum every day, so if using the site's search function doesn't bring it up, I have no way of knowing where to find something. But thanks for the link.
