I'm a little confused about the Top Stories button. I currently have the Top Stories button featured under the Vote for Stories, Submit New Stories etc. area. When I click it it brings up a different arrangement of stories that are different than what is on the Main/Front page.

I am wanting to get rid of it, but not sure if it could or should be relevant.

I understand it is up to me whether it is relevant to my site or whatever. I just don't understand what "TOP" means in Top Stories.

I had always thought that the Top stories were or became the main/front page articles?

Can anyone educate me on this feature?

Top stories are listed with the most voted for at the top of the page. For instance, top vote getters for the past 24 hrs, week, month, etc.

The front page shows x number of stories (whatever you set it to) that have received x number of votes (whatever you set it to) and they are listed in the order they made it to the front page with the newest at the top/oldest at the bottom.

I want the latest stories that users will enter, come to the first page of top stories.
Now my latest news that I've submitted, are coming in the page 6 of top stories!!!
I do not want to be like this; What settings should I manipulate?

I am experiencing a similar issue with the Side Bar Top Stories. I believe it involves the module sidebar_stories_u and the sidebar_stories_u_index.tpl file contents. Mine is set to filter Today only.

Does anyone see what to tweak in sidebar_stories_u_index.tpl? Thanks.
