Its hardly possible now to use user friendly urls for russian now, so I have settings
Friendly URL's for stories
false
Friendly URL's for categories
false
URL method
1
Database encoding
I tryed ru, en

Errors are:
1. I can't use search in Russian letters - it gives empty result
2. Very often it changes the links to Categories to url friendly,
so I got an error page instead of category page content.

Maybe this description of the above error can help you to fix the problem.
Than I'm on the main page http://mysite.com/ there are 2 possible ways of links to categories - right and wrong, it happens 50|50 probability.
right way - http://mysite.com/?category=nameofcategory
wrong - http://mysite.com/category/nameofcategory
When links are ok and I click to, for example, Queued items.. boommm.. links are always wrong after that. The only way to make them work - klik to the category, which name is in english, i.e. FAQ. After that the link in the browser is
http://mysite.com/category/faq/, but other links are ok at that moment, i.e. http://mysite.com/?category=nameofcategory. But then I klik to other page, like Top today, the links to categories are broken again, so I have to klick FAQ category, which works always etc.
