Guys, I think sending out confirmation emails is quite useless.

With the captcha module in place, registration is really simple for the user and secure from spambots. Take a look at reddit for example, they don`t verify your email at all (you even have the option to no give it to them).

I`m quite happy with the way it is for 9.9. Well I might be saying this because I never got spammed, so it might be a whole different story once I do (hope not)

I was spammed (500 new users per hour) until I added the CAPTCHA. The captcha works great, but now (guessing because my site is a PR5) I get useless posts daily (directories, cell phone accessories) that I have to clean out.

So for me, CAPTCHA stops the bots, but the lazy SEO kiddies looking for a quick link get be the CAPTCHA. So, the verification email will hopefully be one more step to block unwanted posts.

Not speaking on behalf of 9.9, but as for 9.82, I used recaptcha and it didn't stop fake registrations (nearly 600 per hour.) But when I installed the single step registration, it stopped the spam bots dead in their tracks. No problems since then. Of all the options in the newest captcha for 9.9, I rather like the mathematical question the best.

It was fine before applying this mod.

Hello every body

I try to do something for the email validation...

For me it looks like to work well. You can try it here : elEcodiario - Agregador de Noticias / Publicadas

It's not a module because i don't have the time neither the knowlege.
I tried to do it but without success by lack of time...

I put an archive with the files and there is the way:
login.php --> ./
register.php --> ./
registration.php --> ./
validation.php --> ./
libs_login.php --> ./libs/login.php
*.tpl --> ./templates/yget/

I Hope it will be usefull
