I noticed that the directions for this say to replace the validation.php file in the root directory. However, the upgrade to 9.7 did not include a new validation.php file? Was the old one fine or is it being done away with in favor of another method? If another method, how will this impact the single-step system?

validation.php is not a file offered by Pligg - the instructions had it wrong - will fix it, thanks for noting. Just upload it to the root folder. Rest remaining same.

For some reason, the captcha is not working for me. I have uploaded all the files to their proper directories, and the captcha is not showing up.

I am using yget template on pligg 9.6.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

There should be some error in captcha generation - try calling the captcha generation code (http://site.com/ts_image.php?ts_random={enter a 6 digits number}) directly to see if it works or any errors you se. a link to your site also should help.

hey dollar5, i tried your method and it works. However, when i go to register.php to sign up for an account, i still don't see the captcha and the textbox to enter the numbers.

I only test the pligg on my system, and haven't uploaded it to my site yet. Don't know if that affects the captcha.

So when you call directly you can see the captcha image?

If that is the case - right click to see the source for any errors or check if your server had gd image library installed.

Hi, I am having the same errors on my local server which has GD library installed. The captcha image is not visible.
When I try calling the captcha generation code I see: http://localhost/pligg/ts_image.php?ts_random={333555}
in my browser in text but no images

When I was using the original registration the captcha image was visible.

many thanks in advance for your help.

Can you try this http://localhost/pligg/ts_image.php?ts_random=333555 and are you sure you have the better captcha fonts copied to you root dir?

Yes Sir, I tried the above and the better captcha fonts are in the root directory but within the folder: better_captcha_fonts.

On the source page of my browser I do see the random numbers being generated but no image in the browser but only the alt text "captcha"

I also tried the install/troubleshooter but it says that there are no errors.

Dollars5, I do appreciate your efforts to help me out. Thanks
