I have read the integrating chat thread and have been looking around for about 4 days for something appropriate, but nothing seems to exist that provides the chat functionality I'm looking for. I'm hoping some of you could provide some pointers in the right direction.
I would like to integrate a chat (not shout) mod so that my users could chat live about a story instead of just posting and reading other posts. Ideally, this software would feature:
- An api to launch the chat "client" with the room name same as the story
- Rooms will be created virtually, not permanently, so when the last person exits the room, the room is removed
- An api to launch the chat "client" with the Pligg username
- An api to show how many users are chatting on a story
- No necessity for permanent room or user storage
- The "client" should have the ability to show other virtual rooms currently active on the site.
- Launched in a separate window to allow users to browse the main site without having to end their chat.
