Submitting stories...again

Glad to see Pligg 9.5 released!

Some of you may remember the trouble that I was having with submitting stories with the last release of Pligg (9.1), so I wound up going back to 9.0 and it worked perfectly. Well, I download 9.5 and do a clean install and I'm having the same problem with submitting a story. After you click the Continue button when submitting a new story, the submit.php page comes up completely blank. I've tried it in Firefox 2.x and IE 7 and with the same results.

Again, my server specs are Mandriva 2006, Kernel 2.6.x, PHP 5.x, MySQL 4.1, Apache 2.x

I've decided that it is something with my local installation that is causing it to not work, but I can't figure out what it is. I followed the readme file exactly for both the 9.0 and 9.5 installations, 9.0 worked and 9.5 doesn't.

On a positive note, everything in 9.5 works for me, except for submitting a story.

I've tried disabling the "verify URL" setting for story submission, but that didn't do it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Look at your php/apache logs during the submit process and see if it's throwing any errors. Also, the Firefox extension called Firebug really helps for debugging issues. Another thing is that some setups don't throw errors onto the page for you to see. Sometimes you have to view the html source of the file to see if there are any errors being outputted. It will also be nice to have a link to your 9.5 install.

I've looked the logs and I've noticed some errors, but I don't know what they mean. I've looked at the blank page (what is supposed to be submission step 2) and there is nothing to see. I look at the page info and it is UTF-8, and the Render Mode is set to "Quirks" mode. The Cache Source is set to "Disk Cache".

Could the last one be the problem? As you can tell, I'm not a programmer by any means.

Can anybody make any sense out of the stuff that I've posted? I'll be more than happy to let someone look at the complete logs, if they can. I need help.
