Hi everyone!

I've just installed the private message module + I was wondering if there is anything in place to stop people abusing it? It seems like person A could add person B as a friend and then spam them with nasty private messages and there would be no way for person B to stop it.

The best way to stop this would be to only allow people YOU have added as a friend to send you messages (as opposed to the other way round).

Anybody else have any thoughts + is there an easy way to fix this?

That does sound like a good idea. There is currently no spam protection put in place. If you have any code you would like us to implement please let us know.

Perhaps a function to ignore/block messages from someone sending spam would be simpler.

I am not familiar with the PM module, but have some suggestions for improvement:
1] Option to set to receive PM only from mutual friends
2] Option to block users (ignore list)
3] Sending PM to multiple person restriction - so at a time only 1 or as set by admin can be PMmed.
4] Option to select not to receive any messages
