Hi fellow pliggers,

I need your assistance. My pligg sites are giving me problem after problem, but thats alright cos I have a great community to go to and seek assistance from, yeah.

This is funny cos, yesterday when I accessed both my pligg sites, both sites had their javascript working okay on the mainpage, in particular - the "tell a friend" and "Verify" button on the sidebar as well as the registration page. This was done when I was in my office.

But today when I returned home, and used my computer at home which previously worked well with all the javascript calls, today when I accessed both sites and tested the javascript features ("tell a friend", "view new message" on frontpage and "verify" button) all of them didn't work. I didnt upload anything to the server or touch any of the javascript!!

Even funnier was that after I just installed both sites from my home pc, the "tell a friend" and "verify" button were working perfectly!

On IE7, upon inspection of the Javascript error i get - it states that "Permission denied", and on Firefox 2.0.2, the javascript and AJAX (for the view new message) just doesnt work.

Why does it work sometimes and doesn't work at other times?

Here are my two pligg sites:

http://www.loudtalk.net
http://malay.loudtalk.net

Can everyone please help by checking both sites out and verifying with me whether this is a server based problem or a web browser problem?

Weird.. I got the same error you did so I registered at http://loudtalk.net/ and it worked fine after registering. So I decided to log out and see what happened and it still worked fine. lol

I'm not really sure what caused it but I did find another bug that I need to fix from messing around on your site. If you notice, PMs won't work. you need to move
Code:
<script src="{$my_pligg_base}/js/jspath.php" type="text/javascript"></script>
and put it above
Code:
{if $pagename neq "index" && $pagename neq "upcoming"}

It's because I moved that line of code into an if statement which means it's not being executed for private messaging. Follow what I said above and it will fix it.

yeah kbeeveer46, ive solved the problem thanks to your assistance. when i meantioned problem in my previous reply.. i was referring to the Firefox and IE issue with the javascript calls on my pligg sites, which you experienced as well.

Now im using another pc in my house and all the javascript works fine on both sites with Firefox 1.5.

i've found out why i received javascript "permission denied" errors. it's because of my settings.php file, where I had the wrong base_url for my pligg installation.

sorry for the inconvenience.
