I know that there is 150 character limitation on the summary field, but is it at all possible to limit the number for the description field as well?

Let's say a user copies an entire article from external source and puts it in description, I don't think that will do so well with the original author of the article as there is copyright infringement that has happened.

In fact, if we are to limit the character on the description, there is less chance a user will be able to duplicate the entire article and the whole problem can be avoided.

I guess it really depends on the website as there are people who enjoy using the description field that has no limitation.

I'm looking at the php files, but I'm new to this pligg script, and I can't seem to figure out which part to edit yet.

Do you think this is possible though?

Just use html and put a maxlength on the textarea in submit_step_2.tpl http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/form...MAXLENGTH.html

maxlength doesn't work with the textarea tag. I would like to know how to limit the descripion as well.

Can someone explain, step by step, how I could apply that neato javascript to my submit form? I'm a wordpress templating vet but this Pligg business is all new to me.

As I understand it:

1. Copy that javascript into my theme's pligg.tpl file, in the header, between "literal" tags.

2. go to submit_step_2.tpl and add maxlength="40" onkeyup="return ismaxlength(this)" into the description field's "textarea" tag.

What confuses me is that there's already a good but of "onkeyup" code in the description field's textarea tag. How do I tack this other script onto it? I've tried it a few different ways....and nada.

Directions?
