Pligg as Blog

I'm just curious about something.

Would it be possible (IE has it been done before) to use Pligg as blogging software? I love the idea of being able to have submissions rated on, and move the highest rated ones to the front page, and pligg certainly looks like it will be fun to work with...so is it possible?

I do use Pligg as a multiple user blog with five-star-rating. The only cutback is that you can´t upload everything you want and combine it with the blogpost. It works with images (thanks to cent´s image upload module). I hope he will expand the code to handle every file type someday (a link to the file would be sufficient). Meanwhile I use ByteHoard (www.bytehoard.org) as upload portal and link to it.

P.S.: If you´re keen on Trackback you will also be disappointed!

hi tbones,

if there's a lot of user requests for it, i can create a generic file upload module that will allow people to attach files to an entry. what are some features you think might be interesting to other people?

Best,
Cent

I would feel so happy if you´d realize that after finishing Image Upload Module successfully.

Furthermore, if I had thousands of wishes and you unlimited time and motiviation to code then per-user-access-control of the files would be fine.

Let´s say you could define groups of users and you could also define profiles (profile1: mike, dean, peter; profile2: group basketball, danny, steven; profile3: group players, group supporters; ....). Then a dropdown menu for each uploaded file would appear where you could choose one of the defined profiles.
</dreaming>

I hope that sounds not to demanding from me :-)
