Hi All,

Got a little busy when I returned and haven't had a chance to make a lot of changes to the Image Upload module. About to dedicated some late nights to it, so here's a list of features/fixes that I will be making. Please let me know what other features / issues you've had with version 0.4. I decided to start a new thread just for simplicity.

Upcoming fixes:
- Allow admin to modify story and maintain image
- All admin to delete image and/or upload new image

Upcoming features:
- Multiple image upload using a single extra field to store all relevant image filenames.
- Add image captions (optional)
- Add watermark on images (optional)
- Pull image(s) from direct URL link

If there are any features you would like to see, please let me know.

Best,
Cent

* Create smarty variables for each image name, caption and total number of images so that users can display the images in whatever way they want.

* Multiple Images: Display only one image in lists (upcoming, popular etc.) and display others after the jump to save bandwidth. (I guess this one isn't necessary if the feature above is added, but I can see a lot of sites wanting this functionality when multiple image uploads are enabled.)

(Cent - I know we already talked about these but I thought I would add them to the list just so there's a record)

Awesome Mod Cent. I got it up and running and its what I'm looking for.

In regards to revolver's request #2, I'd like to see the ability to set that first image. If you are using a serialized array to store the images, you could simply store it at spot 0.

This is too much for the newest version (I'd love to get multiple images soon!), maybe a .7 release or something...
If there are multiple images, it would be cool to see them as thumbnails above the large image in thickbox, so you can click on them and view the image. I've seen it somewhere with lightbox, but think of where.

Thanks again for the mod!

I would love a way to pull the thumnails and posts via rss or something, the pictures are more important than the text to me and i'm dying to embed thumbnails and links to the storys from other blogs. Maybe outside the scope of your project but it as your the person focusing on getting images in the system it would be great to help get them out :-)

Hi cent;

Can it works with the RSS import? Because some RSS has also the image with it. So it would be nice that we can use that image as the image of the story. Or we can download it instead of use their url (faster).

Thanks

Hi Cent, glad you show up..

Anyway, I'm really not a programmer but I've been hacking to your upload module. You can see it at Rank My Wall / Published Wallpaper. It's really rough. Hehe, I hope you can make it better.

What I've done:
- upload to 3 image files (by adding extra field, and a bit copy and paste of the image_upload_preview_handler function, so that it supports 3 images.)
- modify it so that each image restrict to only certain sizes.
- create random image in sidebar (by adding new function called image_random_preview_handler in your image_upload_main.php)
- for some of us who prefer to have an HTML popup so that it can contains Google AdSense, I modified the image_upload_setting.php so that it loads a javascript popup function)

Now, the request:
- Add the additional image(s) in RSS or XML data.

one additional request:

If it's possible, to count how many clicks/views of each image after they were click.

I know there are tutorials in this forum on counting how many clicks/views of each Story clicked. This is similar, but only for each clicked image.

Thx

Hi ,
first of all thank you Cent for this amazing Mod .
Feature to include :

I think you should include an image resize feature , so that the images become
smaller and lighter on the server . Because a lot of us are going to include this Mod as a thumbnail .

Also , the current Mod doesn't show the image on the preview in submit step 3 , I think it should be
previewed in step 3 .

thanks again
