random database error

Hello,

while clicking different links or processing form I get very often this error:

SQL/DB Error -- [

1. Error establishing a database connection!Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
2. Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
3. Are you sure that the database server is running?

]

Any idea why is this? I have several database powered websites (WP, link directories) on this server and never had this problem.

I'm running php5 and Mysql5. the website is Site Voter / Published (older Pligg version 9.0)

EDIT: just noticed that if hit refresh (F5) it works fine, the error is just for the moment

Set $globals['mysql_persistent'] = false;

in libs/db.php
