Pligg's front-page system.

I am inquiring about how Pligg's front-page system works. I could look through the source code but I would rather not at the moment and hope you guys can expedite my inquiry.

I would like to know how pligg creates a front-page consisting of popular stories that are new. If you could so kindly explain it or point me to the code, I would greatly appreciate it.

I think libs/search.php class is used to order/select the stories on the front page
